Fortnite
FortniteGood morning, Fortnite is back and ready for you to start throwing money at it again. Season 11, or Chapter 2, Season 1 is live, complete with a new map and other huge changes, but also, naturally a new battle pass to purchase.
Despite a lot of other changes to the game, we still have our 100 tier battle pass just like usual, and with that, come a whole host of new skins. The theme this year? Good versus Evil, or Light versus Dark, something along those lines.
What do I mean? Each skin in the list (save one, which I’ll get to later), has an “Alter Ego†version that appears to be the “bad guy†clone of the original. I’m not quite sure how this plays into the “plot†of this new chapter, maybe we’ve landed in some alternate dimension or something, but for practical purposes, you will have to complete weekly missions and reach high levels to unlock all the alter ego variants of the skins, as you’ll only get the base version once you hit that tier.
So, let’s begin.
Journey
Fortnite
FortniteThis is one half of our tier one skin. Well, one quarter if you count the alter egos. I’m getting Brite Bomber vibes from her.
Hazard (Unlock by completing 3 missions)
Fortnite
FortniteI mean, she’s still smiling, but I guess evil people wear black and have hoods, so here we are.
Turk
Fortnite
FortniteHere’s the male tier 1 skin, a macho explorer type who is perfect for taming this new, wild land.
Riptide (Unlock by completing 2 missions)
Fortnite
FortniteAnd here’s his alter ego who looks like a Jonny Quest villain. I love it.
Rippley
Fortnite
FortniteThere is usually one fun “gimmicky†skin in these passes lately, and this time the new Peely is Rippley, who is made out of…water? Jello? Unclear.
Sludge (Unlock by completing 4 missions)
Fortnite
FortniteAnd here is the red, polluted variant who is definitely not messing around.
Remedy
Fortnite
FortniteHere we have our first medic-themed skin in a while, perhaps to go with one of the new weapons that heals teammates when you shoot them with it.
Toxin (Reach level 40)
Fortnite
FortniteFortnite
FortniteBut her alter ego is channeling Apex Legends’ Caustic. I’m not sure if there are new poison weapons to along with her, but perhaps by the end of the season.
8-Ball
Fortnite
FortniteThis time, the “good†version is dressed in black, and 8-Ball appears to be some sort of assassin with a very strange helmet choice.
Scratch (Reach level 60)
Fortnite
FortniteHah, I get it, the white one is a cue ball. Amazing. I think this one looks a lot better.
Cameo
Fortnite
FortniteAnd here’s your traditional “bad†battle pass skin. Sorry, but I just don’t like her. She reminds me of that paid bundle skin they just had recently, Wilde, was it?
Chic (Reach level 80)
Fortnite
FortniteHer alter ego is a little better, but not by much. Going to roleplay her as Aubrey Plaza.
Fusion
Fortnite
FortniteFinally, we have Fusion, the tier 100 skin that appears to be merging the whole alter ego concept into one guy, hence his name. But he still has two more unlockable styles, even if he doesn’t have an alter ego himself.
So, that’s the list. I like them! Mostly, anyway. I am curious to explore more about this light v. dark concept as the season goes on, and how that affects what will undoubtedly be a new “story†for Chapter 2.
