Here's how to get the free Lt. Evergreen skin in 'Fortnite' during the Winterfest Christmas event.

Merry Christmas! The big day has finally arrived. Living rooms everywhere are littered with wrapping paper and empty boxes.

And in Fortnite you can open presents, too, and keep opening them for nearly another week.

One of the very best presents you can unwrapâ€"other than the Millennium Falcon gliderâ€"is the Lt. Evergreen skin pictured above. Here’s a closer look:

As you can see, this is basically Jonesy wearing a Christmas Tree outfit. It’s funny because the gift is “From: PEELY” which is nice, given that at one point in this game’s bizarre history Jonesy had to eat Peely to stay alive in the bunker.

The skin also comes with a Back Bling that’s a green present with yellow ribbon called the “Re-Gifter” which is pretty funny.

In any case, here’s how to get the Lt. Evergreen skin.

When you load up the game go to the Winterfest Cabin tab and select the option that takes you to the Lodge. Once you’re there, select the presents on the right (where you got the Millennium Falcon) and then select the Christmas tree.

It will say “Just A Tree” when you have it selected, but don’t let that fool you. Interact with the tree and it will give you the option to “open” it like a normal present.

Alas, you cannot shake it and dislodge all the pretty ornaments. Still, once you’ve opened the tree up you’ll have a brand new, completely free holiday skin that I think is actually pretty great. I like all the Jonesy variants, and especially Bunker Jonesy. But this one is one of my favorite of the new Christmas skins, and the best thing about it is that it’s completely free for everyone.
